You might have to be an English teacher to truly appreciate this one. In an attempt to transform soon-to-be former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s incoherent mess of a speech into something resembling “publishable shape,” the editorial staff over at Vanity Fair Magazine subjected it to the red (not to mention green and blue) ink treatment:

Here’s a video of the original unedited rambling version:

And here are the editorial suggestions from the good folks at Vanity Fair. I only posted the first three pages here. The rest may be viewed at their website:

The editorial and proofreading departments at Vanity Fair are to be commended for their achievement. It’s a thing of beauty. I probably would have given up after the first two pages…

Her exit speech was for her fanatic supporters who would follow her off a cliff. Since her announcement I have been asking “Can anyone real tell me that you were impressed by her exit speech?” But all her supporters stay silent on this and attack on the typical “FOX News” talking points. Back in September 2008, we saw her wagging her finger that Hillary Clinton, that Hillary should not whine about tough media coverage, she was not doing women any good, she should just plow through it, she should have known what she was getting into and should just try harder and prove herself. “WOW”, I guess she loves measuring others by standards that she does not follow. What a hypocrite, but expected from most political false prophets types. That’s why you will hear her say that she is not the “pailin palin” or the “quitter that twittered” but is going for a “higher calling”, sounds more like the TV false prophet who loves stealing money from their neighbors, the sick, the shut ins, the poor. Sweet piece, enjoyed it.

And thank you for leaving such a great comment!

What I got out of Palin’s speech is that she’s decided to continue her life of dedicated public service by quitting her life of dedicated public service, because she’s not a dead fish, or something.
